Magic Kingdom News – week of August 10, 2008

The Hall of Presidents will begin an extensive refurbishment on November 1, 2008. In addition to adding the next new President, other significant changes to the format of the show are expected when it reopens just before July 2, 2009.

“But now it’s time to say good bye…” to some of our family, anyway. Woody’s Cowboy Camp and the Main Street Family Fun Day Parade will both be having their final performances on September 27, 2008. That is the same weekend as the closing of Pleasure Island. There’s going to be an interesting unemployment line on Monday morning, with singing cowboys, Clarabelle the Cow, and Pamelia Perkins looking for work!

Annual Passholders will get a special treat on the weekend of September 27 and 28th, a chance to see the premiere of the full-length animated movie Tinker Bell in the Magic Kingdom. Passholders can sign up beginning August 19th at the Disneyworld.com/Passholders site, for tickets to one of 4 showings, which will be at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. each day in a “theater near Town Square in the Magic Kingdom”. Tinker Bell debuts on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 28, 2008.
