Hi Everyone! A few weeks ago, the Disney.com site relaunched and I immediately went to the new videos section. They have these Disney exclusive nail tutorials by CutePolish. Now, if you are anything like me, you might be intimidated by trying a manicure design on your own. But after watching their exclusive Cinderella Nail Design Tutorial, I realized, “I can do this!”
For a long time, I have been thinking about The Lion King and two places I have not been yet~Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Sanaa. After watching the tutorial, I dug around and found some leftover temporary tattoos of The Lion King 3D. They passed them out at the 2011 D23 Expo. And so I began my very own “Hakuna Matata Manicure”.
I used the following (but definitely feel free to do a variation that fits your own theme):
- Disney themed temporary tattoos with designs sized small enough for fingers (CutePolish used Cinderella, I used The Lion
King)
- Solid color nail polish (I used a light gold color)
- Small crafting scissors
- Wet paper towel (to transfer design to nails)
- Nail stick
- Clear Top Coat
Instructions:
Paint your nails with a solid color. Wait until completely dry. Snip the portion of the tattoo design you like best for your nails. Follow transfer directions of the temporary tattoos. Usually you use a wet paper towel (or similar). If necessary, carefully use a nail stick to tuck excess portions of the tattoo under nail or flick excess portions away from skin. When all of your nails are decorated, seal with one or two coats of the Clear Coat. Wait until you nails are completely dry.
See, “no worries”!
Enjoy your day and paint away!
Fran’s Tips:
~To replicate my nail tips, you can use an orangey-red striper and a dotting tool for purple and red dots. (And the yellow sunburst tattoo I used has Hidden Mickeys around it).

With thanks to Disney.com and CutePolish.
