A Taste of Disney: Citrus Swirl vs. Dole Whip

Taste of DisneyThis week in A Taste of Disney: Dole Whip vs. Citrus Swirl. Which frozen treat is your favorite? Personally, after a recent trip to Magic Kingdom® Park, I have fallen for the beloved Citrus Swirl. I like the combination of a sour orange juice flavor with the sweet vanilla soft serve. Of course, the Dole Whip is also delicious if you enjoy the refreshing, tropical pineapple flavor.

So where can you get one of the beauties?

1) Sunshine Tree Terrace – this place is open seasonally and can be found in Adventureland® at Magic Kingdom® Park, right next to the connecting walkway to Frontierland. It seems that they have only been serving Citrus Swirls here. You’ll have to go elsewhere for that Dole Whip.

2) Aloha Isle– this counter service spot can be found just as you enter Adventureland® from the main bridge. Luckily, they serve up all kinds of tasty treats, including both the Dole Whip and Citrus Swirl!

3) Captain Cook’s Snack Company– last but not least, this quick service location is in Disney’s Polynesian Resort. They have a self-serve Dole Whip machine built into the wall, so you can get as little or as much as you’d like!

Of course, this week’s recipes are for the Citrus Swirl and the Dole Whip! Recipes courtesy of http://www.magicalrecipes.net/

Do you have a favorite?  When do you like to enjoy your Citrus Swirl or Dole Whip when you are visiting the parks?

Kristin Casagrand is a student currently studying physical therapy at Bellarmine University. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Kristin has taken many a family vacations as a child driving 24 hrs, cramped in the back of the car and fighting with her sister to get to Disney (definitely worth it though). She looks forward to sharing “A taste of Disney” with everyone each week.
