Adventure Into The World of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy: Disney Tip #42

AdventureGrowing up going to Walt Disney World®, I always loved discovering many hidden treasures throughout the parks and still continue to look for them today.

Disney always seems to have so many tricks up their sleeves and something new to see around every corner.

One of my favorite things in particular as a little boy was going to Magic Kingdom® Park and listening to the “party lines” you can hear in Tomorrowland® and on Main Street, U.S.A.

First, if you head on over to the Rocket Tower Plaza which is located under the Tomorrowland Transit Authority station (TTA) and Astro Orbiter, you will see a Tomorrowland Phone Co. telephone with several buttons. Pick up the phone and press any button that will take you to various “residents of Tomorrowland“.

Second, if you stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., walk into the Market House and search for a turn of the century phone on a wall located near a set of cash registers. When you pick up the receiver, you can hear an old party line conversation between a mother and daughter.

Although this may not seem like the most exciting thing to do for adults, I found this to be a very cool hidden gem when I was young because it made me feel like I was in on a secret. I felt as if I was really listening to private conversations being held between “Magic Kingdom®  Park guests”.

Your kids’ reactions will be priceless when you show them! I was in awe myself when I picked up those phones for the first time.

How many of you have listened in on the “party lines” at Magic Kingdom® Park? Have you had the chance to show your kids? What were their reactions like? Comment below!
