A Taste of Disney: “Rose & Crown Pub”

Taste of DisneyThis week in A Taste of Disney, we will explore a restaurant that you may simply walk by and never really pay any attention.

This little cozy and old-fashioned setting is perfect to escape into a momentary UK getaway. Found in the World Showcase in Epcot®, Rose & Crown Pub is certainly a treat.

When you walk in to the pub, you are surrounded by English charm, stained glass windows, and the delicious aroma of food cooking in the oven.

I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant with friends a few years back. I was first a bit wary because I am a pretty plain eater, but was pleasantly surprised by my meal. My party didn’t have a reservation, but we were lucky enough to get a walk-in seat at the bar for lunch. We started off our meal with a cheese and fruit plate which was a refreshing combination of Mushroom Brie, Irish Cheddar and English Stilton cheeses with grapes, apples and sun dried cranberries. For my entree, I ordered the Bangers and Mash plate. It was a meal of traditional sausage, mashed potatoes, and gravy. It had a great deal of flavor, and I ate every last bit! One of my friends ordered the fish n chips basket and also thoroughly enjoyed his meal.

The Rose & Crown Pub menu includes additional items such as corned beef, cottage pie, grilled pork brisket, vegetable curry, and a UK burger. Might I also suggest pairing your meal with a tall, cold Guinness®! I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting the dinner menu at Rose & Crown Pub, but I hope to make my way back there for an evening meal soon! Be sure to check this spot out.
