shopDisney: Sweet dreams and “May the Force be with You”

shopDisney is a bi-weekly blog that will focus on Disney merchandise and products sold in the parks, in Disney stores, and in other retail markets.  We will explore product reviews, affordability, and to whom the products are marketed.  Like any other good product review, we will conclude with a rating scale for several different key components: price, age group, and whether the product is a “must have.”

Happy Summer to you all!  I hope your Summer is well under way and you all have some extra time to spend with family and friends.  Especially the kids and teens who don’t have school all summer!

I was recently shopping at Pottery Barn Kids® and I found some bedding that all of the Star Wars™ fans will be happy to see.  They featured all 3 of the original movies (sorry for all of the Jar Jar Binks fans out there) and are tastefully designed.  Here are some of the items I saw while in the store:Star Wars

Sheet Sets and Duvet Covers:

The sheet sets were the most colorful of all of the items and had key characters from each movie featured on them depending on which movie you bought.  For example, the set for The Empire Strikes Back™ is white for the part of the movie that took place in Hoth and features character Boba Fett.

Quilts:Darth Vader Quilt

The quilts were my favorite part because they looked a little more mature than normal comforters that have the graphics printed on them.  My favorite quilt that they sold featured Darth Vader and was quite simple in design.  With a dark blue background and thick white thread tracing the outline of Darth’s helmet, it is very simple yet very striking and bold.

I have only given you descriptions of a few of the items for sale at Pottery Barn Kids®.  If you would like to take a look at the full line of the Star Wars™ bedding items here is the link to their website

Please let me know if you have seen or even purchased any of these items, or if you would ever purchase them for your kids (or your own) room.

Side Note:  I am at Walt Disney World this week and wanted to let you know a few things.  First, the new Co-op Marketplace in Downtown Disney® is amazing!  I loved having all of the specialty items in one central location.  I did not get to look at the D-tech on demand option, but might need to make a quick trip back to see how the process works and what options they have for printing.  Second, we went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® to see all of the Frozen festivities and found the store to be completely stocked with both regular clothing and the Elsa and Anna costumes.  So, if your child is looking for one of these and you are going to the park, this would be a good place to purchase the hard-to-find items.

Have a wonderful couple of weeks and try to stay cool!  Remember that if you need a reason to go out and about, you can always go shopping…..Disney-style!
