Disney From The Twenty-Something: Best Snacks in the “Magic Kingdom® Park” by Land

Caitlin CorselloWhile I love experiencing the dozens of attractions and shows at Walt Disney World®, there is one other thing that makes Disney a great place to vacation for me: food! I admit that I am a total foodie, and have taken to planning my vacations to WDW specifically in the fall so that I can eat my way around the world at the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival Presented by Chase®. That being said, I spend almost as much time planning on the foods I want to try as I do planning our days in the parks. On any of my vacations, I inevitably spend the most time in the Magic Kingdom® Park. Thus, for this post I thought it would be fun to check out the best snacks throughout WDW’s iconic park broken down by each land. Once I started coming up with the list, there were some snacks that were just too delicious to leave off the list, so below you will find both winners and runners up for each land. Be sure to let me know which snack is your favorite to enjoy on a perfect day in the Magic Kingdom® Park.

Main Street, U.S.A.®

Winner: Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich

This cookie sandwich is the perfect way to indulge in a little baked goodness while also cooling down on a hot day. Plus, it’s massive and perfect for sharing (or not!).

Runner Up: Popcorn

While popcorn always smells delicious, it is the first scent you will encounter while passing under the train station and officially entering onto Main Street, U.S.A.®. For me, that scent memory is enough to justify popcorn as one of the best snacks to enjoy on Main Street, U.S.A.®.

Adventureland®

Winner: Dole Whip

This cult favorite snack can be found at Aloha Isle and combines refreshing pineapple with either vanilla or orange ice cream. I’m not even a huge fan of pineapple, but can’t help loving this delicious treat.

Runner Up: Citrus Swirl

Friendships have been broken by the debate over whether a Dole Whip is more delicious than a Citrus Swirl. So to avoid anyone out there hating me, my reason in putting the Dole Whip first is that it tends to be the one I end up ordering more! Regardless of which your favorite is, the Citrus Swirl can be found every day at the Sunshine Tree Terrace and combines orange slush with vanilla ice cream.

Frontierland®

Winner: Mickey Pretzel with Cheese Sauce

Nothing is better than a soft pretzel with gooey cheese sauce, and what better place is there to enjoy one than the bank of the Rivers of America with the Liberty Belle rolling by?

Runner Up: Turkey Leg

With a cult following of their own, Turkey Legs are massive hunks of savory meat bit enough to share. While I’m not a huge fan of these (something about that much meat while walking around on a hot day in the Magic Kingdom® Park makes me a little queasy), I will admit that they always smell amazing!

Liberty Square

Winner: Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich

Found just off the hub at Sleepy Hollow, this snack is unique and offers a little bit of healthy with a lot of chocolate – my favorite balance!

Runner Up: Seasonal Cobbler

My favorite quick service dining location in the Magic Kingdom® Park is the Columbia Harbour House which serves up a Seasonal Cobbler that is always delicious. Be on the lookout for the peach- it’s my favorite!

Fantasyland®

Winner: Warm Cinnamon Roll

This sticky treat can be found in Gaston’s Tavern and is a delicious snack to enjoy while admiring all of Gaston’s hunting achievements. You might even run into the man himself!

Runner Up: Frozen Lemonade

Not all snacks have to technically be food, and what better way than to cool down on a hot day in the park than with an ice cold drink? This Frozen Lemonade can be found at Prince Eric’s Village Market and is the perfectly way to enjoy New Fantasyland®!

Storybook Circus

Winner: Caramel Corn

Taking regular popcorn to the next level, this snack can be found at Big Top Treats and will transport you to the circus on your first bite.

Runner Up: Character Candy Apple

Also found at Big Top Treats, there are usually dozens of candy apples made to resemble some of everyone’s favorite characters! I’ve seen the Fab Five, Jack Skellington, Mike Wizowski, and more recently Olaf. See if you can find your favorite!

Tomorrowland®

Winner: Hot Fudge Sundae

Nothing beats a hot fudge sundae in the world of ice cream treats. This out of this world version can be found at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies and comes with all of the fixings!

Runner Up: Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

If you are looking for an ice cream like snack while aiming to be a little healthier, this is the option for you in the Magic Kingdom® Park. Also being served up at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, this smoothie is sweet and icy cold- perfect for a stroll through Tomorrowland®.

Well, are you hungry yet? All of the snacks mentioned above are delicious in their own way and make any day in the Magic Kingdom® Park a little sweeter depending on what kind of mood you are in. Be sure to try something on your next trip!
