WDW Radio Blog in Brief: “Guardians of the Galaxy”

In this new WDW Radio Blog Team series, each of our writers will give his/her faced-paced, social-media length impression of the latest Disney topics such as movie premiers, attraction openings, park events and more.

GoG - Disney

On the heels of its record-setting $94 million opening weekend, the WDW Radio Blog Team  gives its reviews and thoughts on the newest film in the Marvel movie cannon, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy is now my favorite Marvel movie to date.  With fresh and exciting characters plus a tremendous storyline, this new film is a must see for all Disney and Marvel fans.”

– Alex Larson (It All Started with the Carolwood Pacific)

Guardians of the Galaxy was both heartfelt and hilarious. There was great comic relief whenever it got too intense, and who doesn’t love a good oldies song thrown in every now and then,”

– Alyssa Schulman (Animatedly Yours)

“We went to see this movie last Saturday after our first newborn prep class, and I fell asleep about 10 minutes into the movie.  I kept waking up to some strange characters, but then would fall asleep again. I’m not sure it had anything to do with the movie as much as the fact that I am 31 weeks pregnant and just tired!”

Alyssa Wiseman (shopDisney & Pregnant In the Parks)

“I admire this film’s inventiveness for freshening up a sci-fi story by almost making fun of itself, largely driven by its music. The contrast of serious, spacey action to bouncy ’80s tunes is fun and unexpected.”

– Blake Taylor (Finding Disney)

“I haven’t seen the movie, but I am a big Chris Pratt fan from Parks and Recreation, so I’m hoping to find some time to check it out!”

Caitlin Corsello (Disney From The Twenty-Something & Self -Shot Tuesdays)

“I love that Guardians of the Galaxy doesn’t take itself seriously.  It is a fun (and very funny) romp through the galaxy with fantastic and very memorable characters.”

– Chris Fox (Inside Jokes of WDW)

“We haven’t seen it yet, but a coworker of mine did and said it was AWESOME!! Said it’s a definite must see.”

– Felicia & Sean (A Couple Things Disney)

Guardians has the perfect balance of action, suspense, comedy, wit, and fan service.  My favorite heart-warming moment: WE are Groot.”

Joshua Shusterman (Military Mouse)

“While Iron Man and Captain America will remain, by far, my favorite Marvel movies, I must admit that this film really delivers with its characters.  Each one had a unique story and sense of humor that kept me engaged.”

Kendall Foreman (I Have a Craving & Know Disney?)

“Haven’t seen GOG, but judging from actors, trailer, and family members looks like Disney has done it again!”

– Nick (Teen Disney)

“I am not a huge comic guy, but I will see this film.   Aside from being a cultural phenomenon, I have been a huge fan of Chris Pratt since his performance on one of my favorite shows: Parks and Recreation.”

Richie McNanna (Displaced Disney Dad)
