shopDisney is a bi-weekly blog that will focus on Disney merchandise and products sold in the parks, in Disney stores, and in other retail markets. We will explore product reviews, affordability, and to whom the products are marketed. Some of the posts will contain a rating scale for several different key components: price, age group, and whether the product is a “must have.”
Following the D23 Expo last year, I wrote a short post about the Alex and Ani™ bracelets that I first purchased during the event which featured some iconic Disney characters and landmarks. Since that time, I have steadily grown my bangle collection from one to four and will soon be adding a fifth when our son arrives, and we announce his name!
While I could write about this product each time they release a new design, most of you would get tired of reading about this one product. However, Disney and Alex and Ani™ just released two new designs that I could not resist sharing with you! The first character they released a few weeks ago was Jack Skellington. This design was released just in time for the Halloween season, and I am sure the “Nightmare Before Christmas” fans will be some of the first to make this purchase. The bangle features Jack’s head on the charm and will be released, as all of the Alex and Ani™ bracelets are, in silver and gold.
However, the big addition to the Alex and Ani™ lineup is going to be the “Frozen” bangle that just hit the park stores this week. This bracelet features the famous sisters, Elsa and Anna. What I find curious about this piece is that it is Anna and not Elsa being featured in the front of the charm. She isn’t much larger than Elsa, but with Elsa being the favorite, I assumed that she would be the featured face.
While I was at Walt Disney World® in July there were some new Alex and Ani™ bracelets that were new to me and had been released in the Spring and Summer months. The most popular of these bracelets were the princess silhouette ones that were colored in with the colors of the specific princess. For example, Cinderella was filled in with light blue, and Belle was filled in with her golden yellow. They are all very cute. and I love that they decided to add some color to their gold and silver bracelets.
The other designs that I observed were also a little colorful, but used the classic Mickey and Minnie hats that we are used to seeing while touring the parks. The Minnie Mouse design uses her polka dot pattern as a background of the charm. Each of the bracelets also has “Mickey” and “Minnie” printed on each of the characters hats.
I hope you have enjoyed another look at the Alex and Ani™ line and what new designs they are offering to our Disney community. As I mentioned, this is my new favorite product, and one that my husband hopes doesn’t keep expanding as quickly as it has! Please let me know if you have bought any of these bracelets or what your thoughts have been when seeing them in a Disney park.
