shopDisney is a bi-weekly blog that will focus on Disney merchandise and products sold in the parks, in Disney stores, and in other retail markets. We will explore product reviews, affordability, and to whom the products are marketed. Some of the posts will contain a rating scale for several different key components: price, age group, and whether the product is a “must have.”
This week I wanted to do a little something different with the blog since it is Christmas week, and we are all looking forward to spending time with our family and friends! In order to do that, I asked some of my fellow WDW Radio bloggers to help me out and let me know what Disney merchandise they are hoping to see under their Christmas trees this year. I did receive some very interesting responses and ones that were not typical items you would be purchasing!
Kendall Foreman, I Have a Craving and Know Disney? blogs:
“This year, and every year, I hope to receive the H2O+ Bath Aquatics shower gel from the Disney Deluxe Resort bathrooms. I was so happy when Disney made it available at both the resorts and disneystore.com. Every Christmas, I ask for enough bottles to get me through the year. As you can see, my last one is almost gone!”
Author: I have also observed that you can purchase the H20+ bath products at Ulta, but they do not have the Disney or Mickey Mouse logo’s on them!
Blake, Finding Disney blog:
“My favorite Disney item this year would have to be one of Walt Disney Records’ new Legacy Collection. They are new, expanded editions of Disney’s best soundtracks, including Mary Poppins, The Lion King, and several others. Ear candy!”
Author: The Legacy Collection is an amazing re-release of the classic Disney film soundtracks. They not only include the scores from the movies, but also include some commentary and extras that were not originally released. For example, there are demo’s with Richard Sherman and also some recordings of animators and film directors discussing the songs and how they will fit into the movie. As a side note, I was able to find all of the albums that have been released on Spotify!
Chris Fox, Armchair Imagineer blog:
“I’m a big comic book fan, so I would love to see the Disney Kingdom’s Seekers of the Weird story under the tree or the latest installment of Donald Duck comics in The Carl Barks Collection series. Then, of course, I would love to add more characters to my Disney Infinity collection….I mean my kid’s collection….”
Author: Well Chris, of course the Disney Infinity collection belongs to your kids, and you don’t use it at all or enjoy collecting the characters……I am sure we have lots of readers who feel the exact same way! Disney Infinity has grown into a huge market and released more characters than I ever expected it to. While I am not a gamer, I have observed that many families are enjoying this system and their collection. I also love how different Disney items (ie. Magic Bands) can interact with the system.
Maureen & Pam, TeachEARS blog:
Author: The Disney Dooney collection is absolutely adorable and I love how Disney comes up with new patterns a few times a year! One of these days I would like to add a bigger bag to my collection, but for now I am carrying a diaper bag and no purse!
I guess it is my turn now to share what Disney item/items I would like to see under my Christmas tree this year. As you may know from reading previous shopDisney blogs, I am a HUGE fan of Alex and Ani bracelets! My collection is now up to 7 bangles and 1 specialized bracelet (I do have to admit that I had my in-laws purchase the Disney Hollywood Studios bangle for me when I heard that they were removing the hat because it might end up being a collectible item one day. I have decided not to wear that bracelet at this time and keep it put away). But, I have room for lots more!
The second item I would like this holiday season is a pair of the runDisney New Balance shoes! I don’t have a favorite pair, but think the Cinderella ones would look very nice on my feet. I have always been frustrated that you cannot purchase the shoes except for at the runDisney Expos.
That is it for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! A huge thanks to my co-bloggers for submitting their ideas and giving me some help with this week’s blog. Remember to keep shopping Disney-Style!
