Not too long ago, (in a galaxy far, far away) my family and I invited a few friends over for a Star Wars party! Through the night we made crafts, ate food, watched a movie and had a really great time. So, in today’s post I will be showing you how to throw your own DIY Star Wars party!

DECORATIONS
For decorations, we printed out Star Wars themed signs we found online and my sister made some of her own, too. You can take the decorations to the next level if you’d like to, though, with streamers or balloons.

FOOD
Once everyone arrived, we ate dinner. Our meal consisted of many tasty dishes titled with plenty of puns. We served Jedi Juice (made from Disneyland‘s mint julep recipe), Dark Side Nachos, Droid Dip (aka guacamole), Jabba the Hummus, and for dessert, Mace Windu Saber Pie (get it – ’cause blueberry pie is purple?). The worse the puns can get, the better. Some more puns you could use are: Wookie Cookies, Jar Jar Links, Han Salsa, Ewokomole, Obi Wan Kababies & Vader’s Taters.

LIGHTSABER CRAFT & BATTLE
After we finished eating, we started on our craft! We made our own lightsabers and they were very fun and easy to make! My mom got pool noodles at the dollar store and the rest of the supplies we already had in our house. We cut the blue & green pool noodles to our desired lengths, created the handle with sliver duct tape and then decorated them with black electrical tape! Afterwards we added more detail with black, sliver & gold Sharpies. You can make them as simple or as intricate as you’d like! The best part about this craft is that everyone’s lightsaber always turns out completely different.
Once our lightsabers were completed, we did what any group of nerds would do and went outside to have our own battle!! We took many pictures to document it as well.

MOVIE TIME
Finally, to end the night we watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens! (I love that movie more every time I watch it… and I’ve watched it a lot!) But you can choose any Star Wars movie you’d like, or have a marathon and watch them all!

Overall, we had a great night and hopefully I inspired you to have your own little themed party, too!
