Lou’s email inbox is often full-to-overflowing with questions from listeners. As such, he has enlisted the WDW Radio Blog writers to assist him in answering some of your questions.
This is a question from WDW Radio listener JF.
JF writes to us about special menus for The Feast of the Seven Fishes for the Christmas Eve Holiday in Walt Disney World:
“I just found out my family and I are going to Disney World Christmas week!!!! I am listening back on all of your Christmas shows for ideas and tips, but I had a quick question. We have reservations at Tutto Italia on Christmas Eve. Do they have a special Feast of the Seven Fishes menu for Christmas Eve? That’s my only question for now. If this is answered in a previous show please let me know what number and I will listen back to it. Thank you. JF”
Hi JF! My name is Kristin, and I am part of the WDW Blog Team. Thank you so much for your question about special dining menus at Walt Disney World, and thanks for your support of the the WDW Radio Podcast.
I love celebrating the holidays with a traditional Italian-American Feast of the Seven Fishes Meal. For our readers who are not familiar with this tradition, it is celebration in many Italian-American communities on the night before Christmas. Christmas Eve has been traditionally viewed as a day of fasting and abstinence, where observers choose to abstain from traditional red meat. Instead, families cook dishes filled with multiple varieties of delicious seafood. (My favorite holiday dish includes my hometown’s most ubiquitous shellfish, lobster!)
Our team checked in with Walt Disney World Guest Services and here was their reply:
“Currently, none of our restaurants offer a Feast of the Seven Fishes menu on Christmas Eve. If any restaurants decide to make this offering available, it will be announced on the Disney Parks Blog. While it’s not the same, if you are looking for a seafood feast on Christmas Eve, try checking out Cape May Cafe and their seafood buffet!”
We love the idea of The Feast of the Seven Fishes being included in the Disney Parks Menus sometime in the future. Below, you will find a link to the current menu at Tutto Italia along with some additional WDW Radio links to information on seafood in Walt Disney World. In the meantime, stay tuned to the blog and we wish you and your family safe travels and Happy Holidays!
