I get asked all the time why I keep going to Walt Disney World because the assumption is that there “can’t be anything new for me.” My response is pretty honest, I haven’t exactly done everything! I will admit that I haven’t done some of these things because I’m just not interested, but they also give me an excuse to tell people that I have a reason to return.
But, whether or not I have visited every attraction or not is not the topic of this blog. There are a few attractions, food, and experiences at Walt Disney World that I really dislike or that might be against the popular choice, and there are a few less popular ones that I love. So, I’m standing today and making a confession that…
I have never done Muppet*Vision 3D, and I do not understand the obsession with them.
I grew up in the 90s, but I honestly don’t get the whole Muppets craze! I must have really been the odd person out, but it did not appeal to me at all. I think just because I was never a fan, I’ve never taken the time to visit the attraction. Maybe one of these days I’ll be hot enough and want to sit down for the show!
I do not like Pineapple Dole Whip.
I honestly don’t get the obsession with these frozen treats. I like pineapple, but wouldn’t pick it as a flavor of ice cream. I’ll just skip the hour long line and head to the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor. In the Disney Merchandise shops I have often found Dole Whip items that I think are adorable, so I might have to stick with decorating with the famous treat instead of eating it!
I LOVE Living with the Land.
This is my favorite Epcot attraction and one that we ride at least 2 or 3 times during each of our trips! I honestly have no idea what about it, but I think it’s amazing. My 3-year-old son asked several times during our last trip to ride this and loved looking at the fish, the farm scene with the chickens, and his favorite: Bananas!!
Who wouldn’t like to float along and just look at some different ways to farm and grow things? You are sitting downin air conditioning, so it’s a nice break from the hot sun or rain.
While I think this attraction could use an update/overhaul (and I hope that they have one in the works). It is still fun for me as is, but imagine it with the technology that has come out since this attraction was last majorly updated in 1993 (from what I have found online). I think lots of people would be interested to an space area where they show how some plants do in space. Maybe have a video of current projects being worked on in space that are plant/agriculture based.
I think Disney buses are amazing and love riding them.
People are either going to agree or disagree with this statement! I’ve heard lots of people who dislike the internal Disney transport system, but I haven’t ever felt that way! We often stay off property at a family home, and I hate driving daily to the park we are visiting. Having the convenience of hopping on the bus and not dealing with parking trams and extra lines is fantastic. My son loves riding them, and it keeps him entertained on the way!
I think Epcot should have 1 or 2 days a week during the Fall without the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.
While we were on vacation this Fall I quickly realized that I did not enjoy visiting Epcot at all because of one thing: the Food and Wine Festival.
We visited World Showcase on a weekday, and by noon, the crowds were horrible! You couldn’t move, had to wait 30 minutes for the bite of sample food you would order, and many guests seemed to be focused on getting drunk at Epcot that day.
After leaving early and not being able to enjoy the attractions at World Showcase, I am absolutely convinced that Disney needs to have one day per week where the Food and Wine Festival activities do not take place. This “off” day would give Cast Members a little break, time to prepare for the next 6 days, and, most importantly, allow a more family-friendly visit to the real Epcot without thousands of extra people walking about. Especially those who are only there for the Drinking Magic instead of the Disney Magic!!
I hope that you have enjoyed my confessions and still like me after reading them! Let me know if you agree with my opinions or if any of these items are your favorites.
