Last night, I was invited by Disney to attend the Disney After Hours event at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I have previously attended the after hours event in Magic Kingdom, but this was the first night it was being held at DAK.
As you can see, the park was EMPTY!!! Waits for attractions, including Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest had 5-MINUTE waits… but I loved just wandering the park, feeling as if I had it all to myself (because in many places, I kinda did!) as I enjoyed my popcorn (included) and the echoing background music. I would estimate that they were no more than 700 people total in the park.
A few dining locations were open, but your ticket includes unlimited ice cream treats, popcorn (I may or may not have had 3… don’t judge), and bottled beverages.
The Disney After Hours experience takes place from 8:30pm – 11:30pm (although you can enter with your ticket as early as 7:00pm!) on select nights after regular park hours, with little-to-no wait for attractions, experiences and character greetings!
Advanced purchase price for tickets to this event are $125 (adults and kids) and if available, same-day tickets are $129 plus tax. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can purchase tickets for $95.
I previously attended the party at Magic Kingdom, and will be attending the After Hours event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this Saturday… will YOU be there? If not, stay tuned to follow along!
I’ll discuss and review both the Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios After Hours events on an upcoming WDW Radio LIVE broadcast on Facebook, so stay tuned!
