Hi everyone, it’s your loyal WDW Radio Hall of Fame Janitor Dan. To our US fans, I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday! Our November category to consider for Hall of Fame Induction is Live Entertainment/Nighttime Spectacular. So, as you reflect on the very important choice you will be making … we’re including some links to past WDW Radio blog articles and podcasts that deserve a look!

Electrical Water Pageant

This Walt Disney World nighttime spectacular dates back to 1971. If you want to go back into the archives, check out this text interview that Lou published with David Kaumeier of the Electrical Water Pageant.

Main Street Electrical Parade

The parade debuted in Walt Disney World version in 1977 (5 years after the Disneyland debut). Here’s a big leap to get more info on the Main Street Electrical Parade, check out Show #15 of the WDW Radio Podcast. It appeared on May 20, 2007, and Lou interviewed Don Dorsey, creator of the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Fantasmic Finale

From innovative water projections to live action talent, with some fireworks, Mickey, and a huge fire-breathing dragon, Fantasmic! gave a re-defined the nighttime spectacular. Alex Larson wrote a great article back in 2014 that includes some fun facts about Fantasmic!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Show Spectacular

We’re almost to the THIRTY year anniversary of this show (September 1989), and it truly holds to the original spirit of Disney MGM Studios. Lou covered the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: Past, Present and Future over 5 years ago in WDW Radio Show #338.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth

Maybe this is too soon to bring up, maybe my wife is sick of this show, but this show will reach a 20-year run before it concludes in the second half of 2019. Let me link you again to Show #15 of the WDW Radio Podcast, as Don Dorsey is also the creator of Illuminations.
