WDW Tip of the Week – Enjoy a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar AT HOME!

To so many of us, eating a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar in a Disney Park or on a Disney cruise is a tradition, and now the magic can be enjoyed at home! To celebrate Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s 90th Birthday, Disney and Nestlé have teamed up to sell these favorite ice cream treats in grocery stores for a limited time.  I was fortunate to discover these little gems at our local store back in January. The box contains six ice cream bars for $7.49*, and at $1.25 each that’s a pretty good deal.

Overall the ice cream and chocolate are tasty, but while eating them, it’s more about the memories they evoke than anything else.  One night our family sat around the table enjoying our Mickey bars and we began reminiscing about memories of eating them in the parks or on the ships.  My favorite memory was from Disney’s Hollywood Studios back in 2005. Ice cream was dripping down the kid’s arms, but every bite was so magical. Another of our family traditions is to order  Mickey ice cream bars from Disney Cruise Line room service on our Castaway Cay day, they always seem to taste so good as you are sailing away to the next port.

So, if you see the limited release Mickey Ice Cream Bars at a store near you, grab one and enjoy the memories. Bring a little bit of the magic home, even if it’s from the grocery store!

Have you found the Mickey Ice Cream Bars at your store yet?
