Are you planning a resort day on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation? Why not resort hop over to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort for a day at the beach! Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a hidden Disney treasure and a short two hour drive southeast of WDW on the Atlantic Ocean. In order to resort hop you will need to be staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort and bring your MagicBands. On my most recent vacation at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort I chatted with a Cast Member at Concierge who gave me all of the details of resort hopping. She highly recommends calling ahead to the resort to make sure it is not at capacity for guests which would mean resort hopping guests could be turned away. So please call (772) 234-2000 before you leave for Vero Beach! The CM also mentioned that the July 4th holiday is always the busiest and is blocked out to WDW guests. And, as a WDW guest you have full access to all of the Vero Beach Resort amenities.
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort Amenities
This beach was absolutely beautiful and the best part – not crowded! Access is only available using your MagicBand at the beach gate. You can rent chairs, boogie boards, paddle boards, jet skis, etc. right at the beach using your MagicBand. You can even just bring a towel and sit on the beach or take a stroll along the rolling waves while picking up pretty shells. In the spring this beach is a dense sea turtle nesting area, so if you’re lucky you might spot some turtle tracks, or even better, some newly hatched turtles making their way to the sea!
Only a true Disney fan will appreciate the large Mickey Mouse shaped pool! The pool is large enough that you will not feel overwhelmed with splashing kids. Our trip was over spring break and we practically had the pool to ourselves. There is even a fun Pirate’s Plunge Pool Slide. After climbing two stories, you take a 163-foot spiral plunge to the pool below. For the little ones in your party there is the Tiger Lily Wet Play Area complete with water cannons, pirate ship and a mini water slide. The pools are accessed using your MagicBand at the pool gates.
Enjoy a round of mini golf on this 9-hole course complete with fun obstacles to maneuver around. The majority of the course is in the shade which is a good way to stay cool from the Florida sun. A nominal fee is charged, but Disney Vacation Club Members can enjoy a discount. Putters are available to rent at Eb & Flo’s Rentals.
Feeling a little adventurous? Rent a bike at Eb & Flo’s and hit the Historic Jungle Trail for an hour long bike ride. They have bikes of all sizes to fit your family’s needs. A nominal fee is charged, but Disney Vacation Club Members can enjoy a discount.
All of the resort exploring and wave jumping will definitely get you hungry. There are several options at the resort, I would recommend Wind & Waves Market for a day visit as it is a quick service options with burgers, salads, sandwiches, baked goods and of course Disney sweets.
There is so much to explore at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, but you can get a feel of the resort on a day trip and then plan to visit for a longer stay. While this is a Disney Vacation Club resort, rooms are available to non members and early reservations are highly recommended. This hidden Disney Resort is definitely one I will stay at again. I plan to cover this resort in more detail in the upcoming months – so keep an eye on the WDW Radio Blog for posts on Disney’s Vero Beach Resort!
Tip: Bring your Walt Disney World Resort mug with you – it will work at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort!
