WDW Tip of the Week: Saving Money on Bottled Water at the Parks

One of the great advantages of Walt Disney World being in Florida is that the weather is almost always warm and beautiful. However, with that, come a few challenges, one of alt=which is staying properly hydrated throughout the day.

I drink a lot of water! Even when I’m not in the parks, I constantly have water nearby. Each day in the parks, I usually go through four bottles by dinner. A few years ago, I was doing the math; I realized I was spending over $100 in water in one week! When I saw that, I realized I had to do something different.

We all know about the free water in the parks, but I find, for me, it’s sometimes hit or miss in terms of flavor. Sometimes, it tastes funny to me, and sometimes it doesn’t. So the moral is free isn’t usually best. But, I do use a happy medium called “Amazon Prime.”

For under $20, I had a case of 48 bottles of water delivered to our resort hotel, and with an in-room fridge, I had a constant supply of cold water. Each day, I popped four bottles in my backpack (which does make it a bit heavy, but it’s an incentive to drink it all) and I was good for the day. If I needed ice, I would just go to a counter service location and ask for a cup.

If you’d like to try this, make sure you order your water about 2-3 days prior to your arrival. Call the front desk of your resort as well to get the right mailing address and any important instructions for delivery. Just note that if you want the water delivered to your room, they will charge a nominal fee. Otherwise, you can just pick it up at the front desk and walk it to your room…if you’re strong enough.

“Amazon” is the method I prefer, but you can also order from local grocery stores too.
