LEGO IDEAS (formerly LEGO CUUSOO) is a platform for LEGO enthusiasts to pitch LEGO set proposals to The LEGO Group with the goal of making them actual products.. Currently in order to make it to the review process an idea must receive 10,000 votes from other community members. Just a few days ago the cut-off period for the next review was reached and 35 sets are being considered, however only a select few will actually make it to market.
Multiple Disney sets created through LEGO IDEAS have been successful including a LEGO Wall-E and Steamboat Willie. Numerous Disney ideas are currently up for voting but I want to share 3 of my favorites:
Walt Disney World: Emporium
Currently sitting around 6500 votes, The Walt Disney World Emporium set looks to recreate the facade, and some of the exterior of the Magic Kingdom’s most popular gift shop. User André Blix‘s proposal clocks in at 2558 bricks, making it about 60 percent of the size of the official Cinderella Castle set. You can take a look at The Emporium and cast your vote of support by clicking here.
Monsters University: Oozma Kappa Fraternity House
One of the most criminally underrated Pixar movies could perhaps be the most criminally underrated set on my list. Currently sitting at 385 votes, the Oozma Kappa Fraternity House from Monsters University recreates the house from the movie with a multitude of unique buildable mini-figures. The creator LEGOverwatch is only 13 years old, and does a great job of making a set that stands out among the many adult creators on LEGO IDEAS. You can vote your support by clicking here.
Typhoon Lagoon’s Miss Tilly
The final set I wanted to share is currently sitting at 847 supporters, and needs to make it to 1000 in 10 days as of writing this post to continue. This set recreates Mount Mayday from the Typhoon Lagoon water park in Walt Disney World. The proposed set is 2900 pieces. Please click here (and soon if you want it to have a chance) to support Spartan2259‘s set.
As stated at the title of the blog post, the most recent LEGO Ideas review was announced and two Disney related sets have made it to this crucial stage:
House From Up
First Disney set up (no pun intended) for review is the iconic balloon propelled house from Pixar’s Up. Created by user bramant1 this set could possibly be in your home if it is chosen. You can view all the details here.
Ratatouille: ReOpen The Doors!
User BRICK PROJECT‘s Ratatouille set is his second attempt to make Ratatouille a LEGO reality. While the last one reached 10,000 votes, it was rejected in the review process. The revision has a facade is added along with some economic improvements for LEGO. You can view the previous pitch here and the current one here.
I personally will be rooting for all the sets featured here to become a reality. What Disney LEGO set would you like to see in the future let me know in the comments!
