Disney Movie Summer Saturdays – Big Hero 6

Baymax

Ba-la-la-la-love Big Hero 6

Ah Baymax! He is one of my favorite characters and so I am BEYOND excited that BAYMAX! Is coming to Disney+ on June 29. To get ready for what I know will be an epic series, my family and I gathered to watch Big Hero 6.

To go along with our movie we would of course need Aunt Cass’ burn your face off chicken wing (dip), washed down with some Honey Lemon iced tea. For dessert, it’s pop rocks and ice cream. The pop rocks also will come in handy for a Baymax balloon science experiment.

Balloon Experiment

Partially blow up a white balloon and draw a Baymax face with black sharpie.

Deflate the balloon and add a packet of Pop Rocks to the deflated balloon.

Open a liter of soda and carefully secure the deflated balloon around the rim of the bottle.

Tip the balloon upright and let the Pop Rocks fall into the soda and watch the balloon inflate!

Aunt Cass’ Burn Your Face Off Buffalo Chicken Dip

10 oz of chicken cubed (T his is about one rotisserie chicken worth of meat.)

1/2 to 1 cup of hot sauce (It depends how hot you like it. I prefer Franks for the Buffalo flavor.)

16 oz cream cheese

1 cup of Ranch or Blue Cheese Dressing

1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Blue Cheese Crumbles (optional)

Dry Ranch Seasoning (optional)

Melt cream cheese and mix with chicken in a pan.

Once melted, add to a slow cooker on low and add the ranch and hot sauce.

Top with the cheddar cheese, cover and cook until bubbly (about 30-40 minutes).

Add additional dry ranch seasoning and top with blue cheese crumbles if desired.

Serve warm in Romaine lettuce hearts, or with celery and carrots, or with chicken flavored crackers.
