WDW Radio Kids & Teens Day: You Might Live Disney If…..

by Makena W.

Jeff Foxworthy has this joke “You might be a Redneck if…”  Here is a little twist to the classic joke. “You might live Disney if…” Lots of people love Disney but these are things that are true if you love Disney with all of your heart so you “live” Disney (it’s basically a list of things that I am guilty of.)

So, you might live Disney if…

You might live Disney if…the only Spanish you know is “Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas.”

You might live Disney if…you watch POV videos on youtube all the time.

(I would explain POV but if you don’t already know what it means then you may not “live” Disney!!)

You might live Disney if…you pass road signs in your hometown and have to do a double take because you thought you read the name of a Disney attraction.

You might live Disney if…you smell a certain smell back home and it reminds you of somewhere in Disney… and you know exactly where.
(For me it is my dad’s cologne because he usually only uses it when we go to Disney. At least that’s when I notice it!)

You might live Disney if…you point with two fingers.
(To some people it is considered rude to point, so Cast Members point with two fingers when giving directions. Disney thinks of everything!)

You might live Disney if…you are suffering from Post Disney Depression.

You might live Disney if…you can recite both the whole motorcoach and monorail spiels.

You might live Disney if…whenever anyone in your class says something Disney related, everyone knows to turn and look at you.
(This has happened to me more than once!)

You might live Disney if…You don’t need a park map for any park, but you take them anyway .

You might live Disney if…When you meet someone who also claims to be obsessed with Disney, you do everything to prove you are more of a Disney expert than they are.

You might live Disney if…You know you will be honeymooning in WDW and your future spouse has no say whatsoever in the matter.
(I have most of my wedding planned too! I will be getting married there with a Disney cake and a Disney wedding dress. Plus, our first dance is going to be choreographed to “A Whole New World” or “Beauty and the Beast.” My future husband is not having a say in ANYTHING.)

You might live Disney if…Someone tells you they’re going to Disney World, and you produce twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one.

You might live Disney if…As soon as you see EMH you think “Extra Magic Hours”
(This is also true with Cast Member (CM) and Hidden Mickey/Haunted Mansion (HM).

You might live Disney if…You find hidden Mickeys in everyday objects.
(I have a necklace that I bought just because it has a hidden Mickey in it.)

You might live Disney if…You look forward to the WDW Radio Podcast and Newscast every week and schedule your other activities accordingly.
(Guilty!)

You might live Disney if…You order the free Disney vacation planning dvd to reminisce.

You might live Disney if…Most teenagers want to go to an island for summer break, and you want to go to WDW.

You might live Disney if…You refer to Disney as home.

You might live Disney if…You beg your friends and family to let you plan their trip.
(I usually end up scheduling the order of rides to coordinate with the most fluent searches for Hidden Mickeys and secrets while planning meals that won’t break the flow of the day!!)

I would love to hear how you “live” Disney.  Please post your ideas below!  Although I would love to say these were all my ideas, they aren’t. Some come from Disney fan forums.

Congratulations to Erin who got the Where in the World picture correct. It is from the “Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It!” parade at Magic Kingdom.

See ya REAL soon!

Quote of the Week: “You’re in your car, you’re driving, and then all of a sudden, from the back seat, I just pop up and go, HEY!” ~ Ellen Degeneres, Ellen’s Energy Adventure.

Makena is a 13 year old middle school student who spends much of her free time researching Disney. She enjoys sharing Disney facts and even plans Walt Disney World vacations (including searches for secrets and Hidden Mickeys) for friends and family.
