When I Fell In Love With Walt Disney World

In celebration of Walt Disney World’s 45th Anniversary, the WDW Radio Blog Team members are sharing their Walt Disney World “love stories” about the moment they became lifelong fans.

The first time I went to Walt Disney World I was only six, and I can remember not being too sure about the whole park experience.  There was so much going on and so many places to go.  I really fell in love with Walt Disney World on my second trip in 2005 when I was eight.  By then I had seen so many Disney movies and Disney Channel shows that I could better relate to the theme parks.  That time, when I walked down Main Street, U.S.A., I recall really looking at the buildings and seeing Cinderella Castle at the end of the street.   I could not wait to ride Peter Pan’s Flight so that I could experience flying over London.  My Grandma traveled with us on those two trips, and she really loved “it’s a small world”, and I too fell in love with the attraction.  Dumbo the Flying Elephant was another ride that I could not wait to fly on again.  Plus, I really enjoyed the Kilimanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and I can remember riding on Test Track at Epcot.

Since my first trip to WDW I have been back at least eight times.  Some trips were for a week, others just overnight before a Disney Cruise Line cruise.  I have also been to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park twice.  My other favorite Disney experience is sailing on the Disney Cruise Line.  I have been on all four ships including sailing to the Mediterranean, Norway, Baltic, Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico.  But, my true love is still the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  I hope to eventually move to Orlando so that I can enjoy the parks more frequently.
