I Scream for Ample Hills Creamery!

amplehills1On Disney’s BoardWalk, nestled between the ESPN Zone and the Boardwalk Bakery, sits a sweet treasure and new Disney dessert hot spot for ice cream called the Ample Hills Creamery.  Based in Brooklyn, their location in the Walt Disney World Resort is their first outside the New York metropolitan area.

When you step inside the Ample Hills Creamery you will feel as if you walked into a contemporary version of a vintage ice cream shop.   The interior pops with colorful signs and glistening tile, and a very special Disney-themed castle mural that is festooned with ice cream cone flower bouquets. But the highlight of Ample Hills is their signature selection of tasty ice cream.  In fact, the selection of ice cream is so unique, the Cast Members in the shop will happily let you sample each and every flavor.

You can choose from Peppermint Pattie, Malty Salty Pretzel Punch, Strawberries and Cream, Sally Sells Seashells, Lemon Sky, Chocolate Milk and Cookies, PB Wins the Cup, Sweet Cream ‘n Cookies, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Baked/Unbaked, Butter Pecan Brittle, Nona D’s Oatmeal Lace, Cotton Candy, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, and Coffee Toffee.  And if you can’t decide, select six mini-scoop flavors of your choice to create your very own ice cream flight pack.  Or try a handcrafted milkshake.  Or a waffle or pretzel cone.  Or create your own ice cream sundae.  Or if you can’t get enough, take a grab-and-go pint of ice cream back to your hotel room and indulge in the sweet deliciousness of Ample Hills.

What was my selection?  I went with a small cup of PB Wins the Cup, which was a decadent blend of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter chocolate flakes and homemade peanut butter cups.  As one who garnishes their vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate chips, PB wins the Cup was perfection!amplehills2

If you’re like me and like to research businesses, check out the Ample Hills Creamery website to read their story.  The emphasis is on creating ice cream that is playful and fun!
