Make a wish and do as dreamers do. Then all your cruising dreams will come true.
Why do you choose a Disney Cruise? Surely it’s related to the pixie dust that gives these cruises the Disney Difference Stamp of Approval. From the dining locations, to porting at Castaway Cay; from the Broadway caliber musicals to the character encounters; all topped with fireworks, of course.
Now, with the announcement of the Disney Wish, all of those reasons to go with Disney Cruise Line got more… reason-y. From the mind of Walt Disney to the imagineers of today, Disney Imagineers continue the long legacy of innovation at sea with design and storytelling aboard the Disney Wish. It will offer storied spaces, brand new entertainment concepts, and the very first Disney attraction at sea.
Move over AquaDuck — here comes the AquaMouse! More than a slide, this is an original story attraction based on the oh-so-charming Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse shorts. In “Scuba Scramble,” the Imagineers have managed to combine the whimsy of a Disney dark ride with the views of the open ocean and the water effects of the kids’ splash zone! This is a first-of-its-kind experience you won’t want to miss. Hold on to your ears because this is gonna be fun for all ages.
More than anything, Disney sells an experience. Their attractions and entertainment produces an emotional reaction from guests. It’s why we develop so much love for a vacation spot that many of us refer to it as “home.” On the Disney Wish, there will be plenty to experience and fall in love with, like these two new entertainment concepts.
La Luna will be the hub of entertainment and interactivity on board for families by day, and it will transform by night for adult-exclusive entertainment. Get up close on the action or enjoy from afar in a semi-private balcony area. And to prepare, watch the Disney Pixar short, “La Luna” to get a feel for the theming behind this space.
Hero Zone is a futuristic sports arena that will pit families against each other in action-packed challenges themed around the many heroes of Disney. Family fun. Intense competition. Fans cheering on from the balcony. All with a Disney twist. And this is on a cruise ship! *Mind Blown*
Speaking of heroes… Hey, Lou — do you think this new ship will have any Marvel inspiration? You bet it will! I can confirm Lou Mongello’s jaw needed to be surgically replaced after seeing the Worlds of Marvel restaurant announcement. After the surgery he said, and I quote, “My two favorite things blended together.”
Disney is calling this a Marvel cinematic dining adventure. What does that mean? I want to know as badly as you do! What we do know is there will be exciting heroic events unfolding all around. It’s like a medieval times dinner show with Black Panther and Thor! I hope they’re teaching the waiters to say, “I’m sorry but it’s been three hours. You have to leave the restaurant.”
Okay. I’m saving the best for last. What am I most excited for? The Hyperspace Lounge! I can’t believe this is where we are as Star Wars fans. The theming immersion of Galaxy’s Edge and the soon-to-be-open Galactic Starcruiser, The Halcyon, comes to sea for adults to enjoy every night. Travel through hyperspace to a galaxy far, far away and enjoy scenic views and action-packed encounters across some of the most iconic Star Wars planets. Enjoy the view out the virtual “window” as resistance fighters come in for a landing on Batuu or Darth Vader leaves his dwellings on Mustafar. You’ll forget you’re at sea and be immersed in a lavish gold starcruiser while you sip on a fuzzy tauntaun. Watch out for the bounty hunter in the corner, though. I don’t think he likes you!
Like I said, Disney is selling an experience. I can guarantee this is going to be an experience you will never forget. Share it with the ones you love and create lasting memories through Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars innovations on the Disney Wish. General booking will be available later this month for Summer 2022 itineraries. Disney Wish, I will SEA ya real soon. Get it?
My name is Tyler. I’m 24 years old and I live in Georgia with my wife, Ragan. I am a huge fan of the Disney parks after reigniting my childhood love of Disney on a trip in which I proposed! Since that 2017 trip, we have been back to our home away from home several times, and like many of you, we’re always in the pre-planning stage of a Disney vacation whether it happens or not. I have been a huge fan of Marvel and Star Wars my entire life on a very deep and highly invested level, and I hope my love and passion for these properties (as well as all Disney storytelling on and off the screen) comes through. I have also had a long-standing passion for writing ever since little 10-year-old Tyler Johnson had to be sent to a remedial creative writing class. The day writing finally clicked for me, I was hooked.
