WDW Radio LIVE Open Mic Night: You Pick the Disney Conversation

Disneyland food, Disney Cruise Line’s expansion, the future of AI in the Disney Parks, a little Disney history, and even a surprise emotional moment from Momentum. I came into this WDW Radio LIVE show with absolutely no agenda, and you gave us plenty to talk about.

After a whirlwind stretch aboard the Disney Wish for the Disney Believe reveal, a trip to New York Comic Con, and our tenth Momentum Weekend Workshop, it felt especially good to reconnect on Wednesday night. If you missed the show, here’s the replay, along with some of the questions and moments we shared.

What We Talked About

Disneyland Tips: Two Parks, Two Days, and Lots of Food

Hannah asked for advice on visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for one day each after not having been since 2008. My first recommendation? Go hungry, and maybe wear stretchy pants. I love the Disneyland Resort’s snack scene, especially San Fransokyo Square, and there’s a lot to explore when you’re returning after so many years.

With only two days, I’d prioritize the experiences you most want, consider Lightning Lane for popular attractions, and plan the day around meals rather than trying to do everything. We revisited the food question later, too, with breakfast burritos, Jolly Holiday, Blue Bayou, Lamplight Lounge, and the great quick-service options that help maximize limited park time.

Disney Cruise Line, Japan, and Our Upcoming Group Cruises

We talked about Disney Cruise Line’s growing international presence, including the Disney Adventure in Singapore and Disney’s plans for a new ship serving Japan in partnership with Oriental Land Company. I’m fascinated by what that could mean for storytelling, food, and the onboard guest experience. And yes, I’d be delighted to visit Japan for some very important research.

We also caught up on our WDW Radio group cruise plans, including Alaska, a sailing from New York, a West Coast cruise aboard the Disney Wonder, and our Disney Believe group cruise in May 2028. Find our current adventures at WDWRadio.com/events.

AI in the Disney Parks: Exciting Possibilities, Human Connections

One of the longer conversations of the evening explored artificial intelligence, both for people creating content and potentially for guests using Disney’s apps. I shared my impressions of an early version of an AI-enabled Disney Parks app experience, while emphasizing that technology shouldn’t replace the personal value of a knowledgeable travel advisor.

The same goes for creativity. AI can be helpful for research, brainstorming, editing, and productivity, but the human voice, judgment, and care still matter. When your work doesn’t sound like you anymore, that’s a problem. We also discussed why original, handmade art and authentic storytelling may become even more valuable as AI-generated content grows.

A Little Disney History and Some Unexpected Questions

Where did we go next? Into the history and possibilities of the PeopleMover, thoughts about the Wonders of Life pavilion, Disney stories that could inspire future cruise ship spaces, and the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. We even had a fun question about which Disney sidekick I’d choose as an assistant. My giant Baymax, a gift from my son, certainly has a strong case.

And because this is WDW Radio, we talked about getting together in the parks, including the idea of a future group night watching Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Ten Years of Momentum, and a New Adventure at Sea

I also shared a few thoughts after our tenth Momentum Weekend Workshop. The generosity in the room, the energy of the conversations, and the way everyone supported one another meant a lot to me. The surprise anniversary tribute video at the end of the weekend caught me completely off guard, and yes, there were tears.

We also shared more about Momentum and our first Momentum at Sea, planned for March 15–19, 2027 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas. It’s a smaller, more personal experience bringing together learning, conversation, business-building, and community.

What Would You Ask on WDW Radio LIVE?

These open-mic nights remind me why Wednesday is one of my favorite nights of the week. Sometimes we learn something new, sometimes we share memories, and sometimes we just get to catch up. It’s the people and the conversation that make it so special.

Join us at WDW Radio LIVE, normally Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. ET, and bring your questions, Disney stories, and maybe a snack. What would YOU like us to talk about next time?
